Have you ever checked what your influence is on the Social media network?
You have accounts on multiple social media websites including Facebook and Twitter and have quite a few fan following or, followers following your tweets. You followers also have huge follower list and consequently you have a long list of indirect followers as well. But what is your influence on the social media?
This is a question that is difficult to answer.
For a blogger and internet marketer like me, influence is for celebrity Tweeters and social media participants like Barack Obama and Sarah Palin. It is they who have a huge fan following and who would have a huge influence on the social media world. Hence I never felt the need to assess what my influence would be. I knew that it would not be that great.
I was surprised a few days back when one of the Tweeter that I was following showed up with a huge influence, much greater than even Barack Obama. I was surprised. I wondered why. When I dug further into it I realized that he indeed had a much greated influence that Obama.
Wondering why?
No doubt Obama had a lot of people following him. But my friend had a wider network. He had a lot of followers, who in turn had even higher number of followers and the network just kept spreading. In addition to that the fact worthy of assessment was that his tweets were being re-tweeted in Twitter and his activities were being showcased on other social media platforms as well, thus showing that what he said carried value and people reading his tweets considered it worthy of being shared. All this made him a much more influential character than President Obama.
There are numerous such social media personalities and you too could be one of them.
But how do your check your influence? The answer to this question lies in Twinfluence.
