Tweetglide – The best desktop tweeting application

Desktop application for tweeting is the new generation way of tweeting.

It is becoming a common phenomenon to develop and use applications that can help you do anything from the desktop of your computer. Take for instance, Google Adwords. Adwords is the most preferred PPC advertisement provider on the internet. It was a cumbersome job to always log onto your Adwords account online and then work on you advertisements. Google, then came up with Adwords editor, that is a desktop application, which you could install onto your computer and manage and control your Adwords account from your computer, while having to actually login to Google Adwords online.

Desktop applications for Twitter is not something new. There are numerous applications that can help you control your twitter habits from the desktop of your computer. Still there are many more such newer applications being launched. Wondering why? It is because, there are so many features that are still unavailable in all of these applications, that it gives an option to new developers to implement that feature into their application and then launch it.

The latest in the list of desktop tweeting applications, is Tweetglide.

I downloaded and installed it a couple of days back, 17 days to be precise and have been using it for some time now. It is hence that I thought that  I will write about this application.

For people who have been using Tweetdeck and Seesmic, I would recommend switching over to Tweetglide, because you will experience a lot of new features with Tweetglide.

One of the best things about Tweetglide is that there is also an application for your iPhone and iPod touch that is being developed. Though it is still under work-in-progress, looking at the current version of the desktop application, I am sure that the iPhone application would also be amazing.

Tweetglide, like the other application uses Adobe AIR for its installation. That is something that I have always hated with all these applications. Barring this one thing there is nothing else that can be a negative aspect to Tweetglide.

• Shorten and track – Tweetglide has a unique feature that not only shortens your URLs, but also helps track them. Another unique feature that is only found in Tweetglide.
• Custom Glides – Tweetglide lets you manage the glides so well that you can customize them and rearrange whichever way you want them to.
